Becoming a Better Budgeter When Renting an Apartment

When renting an apartment, never make the landlord feel as if you do not have the capacity to pay the rent. The real trick when trying to budget anything is handling your money properly. Each day, we have to manage something, whether securing our job title, our time and sleep or even the simplest cooking of meal.

I am not a financial consultant but let me share to you why I was able to save money while I am paying rent to one of the Austin Texas apartments for rent. What I normally do is to set aside a little amount each week and lessen the habit of eating in the restaurant.

Also, to ensure that I am keeping the right amount of money in my savings account, I asked my employer to automatically deposit a certain amount in my savings account and the remaining balance should stay on my payroll account.

Having said that, I just woke up one day looking in my bank statement and surprised to see that the money in my savings account grew fast.

Quick Cleaning Tips

No matter how small or big the unit you are renting, it is your obligation to ensure the cleanliness of your apartment. Cleanliness in Johns Creek apartments is a healthy habit to practice daily. Aside from having a clean ambiance and no smelly odors around, it will also help you perspire as if you are doing your daily exercise routine.

In cleaning your unit, it essential to gather all your cleaning supplies first and set them in one spot so you wouldn’t be wasting time running around to reach for them. Next, pick up the main areas such as the living room, kitchen and bathroom where you know or think your visitors will spend most of the time.

If there is an item around that does not belong in that room, pile them up right away.

Now, let’s start cleaning.

In the living room, dust the main shelves and furnishings. Use coffee filters for glass and window instead of paper towels to leave a residue-free shine on those areas.

In the kitchen, make sure to Lysol everything! (Except for those item you use for cooking and eating!) And make sure to put all the dishes away and keep them clean by washing them.

Last, the bathroom area. Clean them with Lysol or bleach to clean the toilet bowl, bathroom floor and sink.

Once done cleaning those areas, vacuum sweep over the rooms and hallways to pick up the excess dust that may have fallen to the floor when you were dusting the shelves.

Keeping Stress Free in Your Apartment

Feeling a little overwhelmed lately?  Feel for a need to relax?  There are so many things about living in an apartment can cause large amounts of unwanted stress. Starting from moving, to cleaning, and cooking each time can cause you to feel like you’re too tired with the routine and you just can’t take it anymore!  What to do?  Don’t panic, we have some ideas.

First, let’s utilize the amenities offered in your Roanoke apartment. One stress reliever I found to be credited across the board is to get active!  Go for a run, do some jumping jacks, or go hit a punching bag in the fitness center or go to the swimming pool. Physical activity releases endorphin  which are the good-feeling hormones in your brain.   Chances are, after a few minutes of pounding the pavement (or the bag) you’re bound to start feeling better.

When you’re stressed, laughing may seem like the very last thing you want to do.  But believe it or not, it will help!  So read a joke or two, or watch a funny movie that you know always makes you laugh.  Once you get going, the stress will melt away.

Listen to some relaxing music.  Music is the best medicine.  Find something soft from your favorite playlist, close your eyes and let the music do the work.

Knowing Who’s on Your Neighborhood

As mentioned on my previous blog, our safety should be our priority when renting an apartment in Morrow, GA or in any location. Just to add to the helpful tips I shared with you on my previous blog, you should know what and who is in your neighborhood for security purposes.

If you see an iron bars on window of apartments or private homes around, then that should be a warning sign. Either there was an incident when someone fall from the place or perhaps thieves were caught in a certain area.

If you see a lot of trash on the walkways or graffiti on the walls, then that may not be a good neighborhood or the landlords or owners of those apartment homes is not taking care of its property which may lead to future problems. Keep in mind that the surrounding is a reflection of the quality of people that lives there.

What’s on Your Neighborhood

Looking around for an apartment is one exciting activity. Want to know why? Simply because you’ll get a chance to  meet a lot of people, take note of the comparison of each apartments, knowing the amenities that might fit in to your needs and most of all the attraction of the location!

Well, for me, when I was looking for apartments for rent in Florida, I was persistent in knowing who and what is on my neighborhood. It is important to know what the community has to offer so that I wouldn’t need to spend much in travelling from one place to another just to get anything I need.

When finding an apartment, you have to make sure that your rented unit is near shopping centers, department stores, restaurant, schools, banks and theaters so you can save time and money at the same time enjoying your surroundings.

Living on Your Own? Know the Budget.

When renting an apartment, the first thing you have to make sure is that you are capable or you are able to pay your rent and utilities each month. Budgeting may be a problem to most first time renters but keep in mind that this is just a simple challenge and you can move on from it in a few months’ time. Below are some of the things I personally did when I started living on my own in one of the SC Apartments.

1.    Cooking – Instead of going to restaurants or fast food chains, I took out the pots and pans and started cooking for myself. If you don’t know how to cook, always ask Google on how to cook a certain meal you want to eat.

2.    Walking or Riding a Bike– instead of riding a cab, I learned to use my legs more often to save some cash plus I was able to get some exercise.

3.    Welcome the Breeze- I sometimes skip using the ac and welcome the breeze on my window instead to deduct some bucks on my utility bills.

I know there are some several ways you can do to save money. But the best thing about this is being able to discipline yourself when it comes to saving some money.
